About Rebecca Heald
Rebecca first trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist at the University of Teesside, where she obtained her BSc Honours degree in 2002, before completing a post graduate diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2005. Rebecca continues to work part-time within the NHS although her main focus is in animal rehabilitation.Rebecca works alongside a number of veterinary surgeries providing in-house physiotherapy and also works closely with a number of specialist referral practices that have MRI facilities and carry out regular spinal surgery and specialist orthopaedic procedures. Rebecca also works with a number of large animal veterinary practices in County Durham and North Yorkshire.Animals have been a life long passion for Rebecca, she has owned several dogs, cats, horses and small animals over the years. She currently has a retired show-jumper called Honey, and one cat called Scampi. Rebecca updates her practice by attending regular training with veterinary surgeons and other veterinary therapists from around the globe.About Rebecca’s TrainingBSc(Hons) Physiotherapy – three year degree course (giving a Chartered Physiotherapy qualification).MCSP – Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and therefore bound by a code of professional conduct.HPC – Member of Health Professions Council and registered to treat humans.PgDip (Vet. Physio) – Post graduate diploma in Veterinary Physiotherey at the Royal Veterinary College.Cat A ACPAT – Category A mamber of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (affiliated to the Royal Veterinary College) and therefore qualified to treat animals.
